Her Process

Take a look at how my artwork progresses from start to finish. I enjoy posting videos and pictures of my process. I don't believe in gatekeeping and hope that showing how I do it might inspire others to try more technical and advance skills. I do not consider myself a master in any way, but maybe my process will encourage or inspire others to make art.

Step 1: Grid and quick sketch.

Step 2: Background.

Step 3:Skin matching and finding warm and cool tones.

NOTE FROM THE ARTIST

I love watching the art turn from a simple sketch to a living, breathing person. She has a backstory. Her emotions are in the image. That is the art I want to create - life. I want the viewer drawn in and asking questions. It's a dance between what is there and what the audience creates for her.

My paintbrush is like magic. At a certain point, I let the art transform, and I am just another audience member saying, "how do you do that?"

Step 4: Put it all together. Let's see it in action.
